Alice Halliday is a couturier & fashion stylist based in Skibbereen, Co. Cork, Ireland.

She specialises in bohemian bridal and event wear, headpieces & accessories.

With a focus on sustainability, each piece is lovingly and ethically handmade in Alice’s West Cork slow fashion studio.

Worn by the likes of Florence + the Machine and featured on Vogue, Alice's award winning designs have just the right balance of ‘old world’ elegance and contemporary design.

Passionate about the environment, Alice grew up in the countryside, and has always been inspired by nature and the land around her. A lover of flowers and the wild landscapes of West Cork. Meadows, woodlands and beaches are her favourite places to explore and find inspiration.

It all began from the age of 9, hand-stitching Barbie clothes with her mother. Alice started making her own range of accessories as a young teenager, using upcycled vintage fabrics, which she sold in local shops.

She went to art college and University in the UK after finishing school in West Cork. Alice won ‘Student of the Year’ after completing her Diploma in Art and Design (specialising in Fashion and Textiles) at Warwickshire College, Leamington Spa.

It was then on to the University for the Creative Arts (Epsom) to study Fashion Design and Innovation. Alice graduated in 2010 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree and showcased her graduate collection ‘Soul Salvation’ on the catwalk at the prestigious London Graduate Fashion Week.

In 2011 Alice set up her clothing brand, after winning the award ‘Cork Fashion Week Designer of The Year 2011’ for her debut collection ‘Tea with Tamara’.

Each of Alice’s creations are lovingly made by hand, using the finest vintage, antique, reclaimed and locally sourced materials.

Some of her headpieces even incorporate beach combed treasures found on local beaches.

Her creations are ethereal and romantic, with a dreamy boho aesthetic. No two pieces are the same, and each one is a wearable work of art.

She is also influenced by spirituality, folklore and the world of magic. In her spare time, between being a mother of two, Alice enjoys writing poetry and creating art through collage.

Alice’s work has been featured in numerous acclaimed publications.
She also styles fashion and personal photo shoots, for brands and creative artists, as well as creating and styling bespoke pieces for musicians to wear during performances or in music videos.

Due to the nature of some of the precious old fabrics used, there will be a uniqueness to every piece. Delicate mending / restoration work may have been done, some garments may have minor discolouration, patching or embroidered reinforcement details.

Alice feels that the history adds charm and character to each special garment. The story behind the fabrics gives something extra special to the wearer.
